Presentation #1: check!

On September 10, 2012 by Bethany

Eric and I had the privilege to speak to Flatwoods Baptist Church in Mountain View, Arkansas last night. This was our first church presentation and it was so exciting to finally be able to begin spreading the word about our new jobs and ministry with Praying Pelican.

We gave a brief overview of our story, our missions experience, our ministry, ways to get involved and examples of ministry we’ve been involved in with PPM. One of the partnerships we highlighted was Life is Hope Orphanage. We showed this video of Jude Hoffman talking about his heart and calling to come alongside Life is Hope and support them.

Pastor Joe Morell then charged the church in the area of international missions. He had each person who had ever been on a trip stand up and tell where they had been in the world and the things they learned while on the trip. It was so moving to hear all of the truths being verbalized about international missions. “God reveals things to you in a literal way.” “It changes the people you meet into real, physical people, not just a number or a picture.” “You don’t turn away from the needs you see right in front of you.”

How right they are. I’ve never seen a church openly discuss missions in such a way. It was awesome to be a part of.

We had so much support from this community of believers. It was encouraging to know we have people who will lift us up in prayer each day, going to the Lord on our behalf. Thank you Flatwoods for allowing us to come and share with you. Thank you for being an incredible encouragement.

I would like to encourage you, get involved in missions. Whether it be through your church, another organization or association or through Praying Pelican, get involved!
