Monday Morning Mind Mayhem
It’s 8:00 am and I’m sitting at my computer getting ready to begin working. Consulting, calls, Haiti ops, emails, itineraries, forms, etc. It’s all looming over me to get done. I sit down, make out my to-do list for the day and then another one for the week.
But its like I can’t begin. It’s still too much for me to do at this moment with only 4 sips of my steaming hot coffee in my system. So I scan the list once more and there it is.. my first step, the one thing that jumps out at me and that I need to do before beginning the week: BLOG. This I can handle. This will start my week off well.
We had a great past few days, travelling to Jasper, Alabama to visit our Life is Hope friends and have a few days of meetings. It was wonderful to get together with our last team that came down in January and also a few of the other group from up North in WV. We had a great night Thursday of fellowship and good food and woke up on Friday and had a full day of meetings.
We had some absolutely beautiful conversations and reflected on just how much the Lord is showing us that He is IN THIS. (More on this to come!)
Eric and I decided to head out on Friday night and drive the 5 1/2 hours back to Cave City so we could sleep in our own bed and see our little friend Julian on his birthday before we left out for Searcy, AR the next day.
We left out a little late (its our beds’ fault, it is waaaay too comfy) but still made it to Searcy by 2:30. We met with a guy at a local Non-Profit coffee shop about possibly selling Life is Hope Coffee. It was awesome to make that connection and it be well-received. The guy we spoke with has recently just returned from Haiti, spending his time there creating films for a class he has in school. Cool how the Lord works!
But my favorite part of this whole weekend was the time in the car with Eric. As usual, we are mulling over some pretty big decisions in our life right now and it was awesome to get away from everything and be able to talk. It seems like some of our best conversations always happen while we are travelling.
I am so thankful for this life. For the breath I have in my lungs, the heart I have that is beating. Father, every breath and beat is for You. Use every moment for Your glory.
